Gurugram biker hit-and-run case: Accused arrested, attempt-to-murder charge added
In a significant development in the Gurugram biker hit-and-run case, the accused, 24-year‑old Aneesh, has been arrested by the Gurugram police. According to reports, Aneesh was apprehended on September 14, 2026, from Sector 31, Gurugram.
The case pertains to an incident that occurred on September 13, 2026, in Gurugram’s Sector 29, where a biker allegedly hit a 10‑year‑old boy, leaving him seriously injured. The boy’s family registered a complaint, stating that the biker had attempted to murder the child.
Initially, the police registered an FIR under sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 304‑A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). After the arrest, the police added charges of attempt‑to‑murder (section 307 IPC) and causing grievous hurt (section 325 IPC).
The accused, Aneesh, is a resident of Sector 31, Gurugram, and was riding a two‑wheeler at the time of the incident. Police said Aneesh has been taken into custody and will be produced before a court soon.
The victim, a 10‑year‑old boy, is undergoing treatment at a local hospital and is reportedly out of danger. Police are investigating further and have assured strict action will be taken against the accused.
Crime Branch officials said the accused will be presented before Gurgaon Court on September 16, 2026. The child is under observation at Medanta Hospital, with doctors reporting stable condition.
